Children

The heart of children's ministry at our church is to teach kids about who God is and how His word applies to their lives in creative and memorable ways. Through engaging teaching, supportive environments, and close knit small group classes, we guide kids towards a better understanding of what it means to have a real relationship with God. We want kids to know that the Bible is full of interesting stories that matter in their lives today, that fun and games are definitely allowed at church, that worship can be full of loud music and silly dancing, and that there are adults in the church who truly want to love and lead them closer to Jesus. In other words, we want them to know that where God is, life is a lot more fun!

Students

If you spend any time around our church at all, you'll quickly learn one thing: we love students. They're smart. They're funny. They're bold. And they're bursting with potential. We truly believe that the middle and high school students in our midst are world changers in the making. That's why student ministry is such a huge part of what we do at our church.

We want to guide our students in developing a personal faith in Christ as they step into their specific roles in the story He's writing with their lives. We work hard to create environments that engage students in good conversation about God, encouraging them to ask questions, search out answers, and truly learn to listen to His leading in their lives. Our Youth Group meets regularly on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-8pm, feel free to reach out to Emily Johnson or the office for more info!

Adults

Don't worry, all the good stuff at our church isn't just for the under 18 crowd! We have plenty of engaging events and gatherings designed to build the faith and community of our adults as well. Young or old, Christian or not, single or married, man or woman—we've got a place for you! We offer adult education opportunities on Sunday morning between services, weekday Bible studies throughout the year, and other fellowship and outreach opportunities as well like themed dinners or our Faith on Tap group so that you can deepen your relationships here at Kirkwood and become a part of the family!

Traditional Music

Our traditional music ministry is made up of traditional classic hymns and worship music, featuring vocal choir, classical organ, piano, violin solos, handbell choir, ethnic dulcimer ensemble, vocal soloists, duets and more. Our director David Ryall has many years of experience in leading traditional worship. We would love to have you participate with us as we lead others in praise and worship to our Lord and Savior. Please contact David Ryall or the church office if you are interested in getting involved.

Contemporary Music

Our contemporary music ministry consists of a praise and worship band with a vocal ensemble, keyboard, electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitar, drums, and more. We sing songs that span from present day modern worship music that you hear on the radio to contemporary arrangements of classic hymns. Our Worship Pastor Shon Morgan deeply believes that the heart of worship is truly all about Jesus. We strive to be worshippers, as well as servants of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you would like to get involved with the contemporary music ministry, please contact Shon Morgan or the church office.

Media & Technology Team

Our Media & Technology team play a huge role in the success of what we do. In our modern culture people are dependent on media through technology in most everything they do. Our goal is to serve our community as well as our congregation with ways to connect and get resources to inspire and encourage them in their daily walk with God. Resources like gathering places to come together with family and friends, as well as social media and video content to help other beyond the 4 walls of the church. At home, at work, or anywhere on the go. If you are a techie or would like to learn more about being techie, we invite you to come join us and be trained in helping us reach others for the sake of our Lord and Savior. In this sound like something you are interested in, contact Shon Morgan or our church office.

Missions

Local mission are at the very heart of Kirkwood. And whether it's volunteering on Sunday mornings at Our Daily Bread, helping to support the families of Seabreeze Elementary through our Day4Hope and Continuing Hope efforts, volunteering in the schools with our weekly reading program, making use of the Community Garden, getting people connected to other non-profits in the area through our Annual Christmas Market, or helping to distribute our monthly Mission Cart collections, we'd love to help you get plugged in wherever you feel called to give your time. And our amazing Coordinator for Mission and Outreach, Carolyn Roskamp, would be glad to help you figure out where to serve!

Kirkwood Cares Team

At Kirkwood we believe that Christian community really makes a difference in our lives. And our Kirkwood Cares Team does everything they can to make sure that everyone who is a part of our church is surrounded in their times of need. They're quick to jump into action when someone needs a visit in the hospital or in their home. They makes phone calls to keep people connected and they deliver gifts to remind people that they're being prayed for and thought of. And they go along with Pastor Alex to bring Communion to those who can no longer attend in person. If you'd like to join in with the Kirkwood Cares team make sure to email the office so we can get you plugged in to the group!

Campus Care Crew

We are blessed to have a beautiful property just off Cortez Rd in West Bradenton, and it takes a team of people to keep the place looking great! So if you have gardening skills that you'd like to put to use, or if you don't mind helping with some outdoor projects, we'd love to have you join our Campus Care Crew! They get together every week (weather and heat permitting). If you'd like more info or you'd like to volunteer your time you can reach out to the church office and Angel will get you pointed in the direction.
